The terms that apply to Arcus Helicopters trial lessons and gift vouchers.
Every Arcus trial lesson includes a 30-minute safety and technical briefing followed by flying time of either 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the experience purchased. Once airborne, and when it is safe to do so, you will be invited to take the controls under the close guidance of your instructor.
A trial lesson is for one student and one instructor only. Accompanying passengers cannot travel in the helicopter during the lesson, regardless of how many seats the aircraft has. Friends and family are very welcome to come to the airfield and watch.
Weight limits are set for safety and cannot be exceeded:
Please tell us your weight honestly when booking. If the limit for the aircraft is exceeded we may need to move you to a different aircraft, which may change the price, or we may be unable to fly.
Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The voucher code or order reference must be quoted when booking. Please book well before the expiry date, as availability cannot be guaranteed at short notice. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
Buying a lesson or voucher does not book a date. Contact Arcus on 0115 982 6090 or at info@arcus-heli.com to arrange your flight, subject to aircraft, instructor and weather availability.
Flying is weather dependent. Where conditions are unsuitable the flight will be rescheduled at no extra cost. This decision rests with Arcus and the instructor, and is always made on safety grounds. We will contact you as early as we reasonably can, but conditions can change quickly and a flight may need to be postponed on the day.
You have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days, beginning the day after you buy. You do not need to give a reason. Buying a lesson or a gift voucher does not book a flight for a particular date, so this right applies to every trial lesson and voucher bought through this website.
To cancel, tell us within that period by emailing info@arcus-heli.com or calling 0115 982 6090. Email is best, because it gives us both a record of the date. We will refund you in full, by the same method you paid with, within 14 days of being told.
If you ask us to arrange your flight during those 14 days and you fly before the period ends, the lesson has been provided and it can no longer be cancelled or refunded.
After the 14 days your voucher remains valid for 12 months, and the arrangements below apply.
Please give us as much notice as you can if you cannot make a booked slot so that we can offer it to someone else. Where you cancel at short notice we may not be able to offer an alternative date within the voucher validity period.
This is separate from the 14-day right to cancel set out above, which applies whether or not a flight has been arranged.
You must follow all safety instructions given by your instructor and by airfield staff at all times. Please tell us before your flight about any medical condition, mobility need or recent injury that might affect you, so we can advise you properly. We may decline to fly where we believe it would be unsafe to do so, including where a person appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Prices include VAT. The price you pay is the price shown at the time of purchase.
You are welcome to bring a camera or phone, but loose items must be secured and your instructor may ask you to put them away at any point during the flight.
